I have now started to delve into traditional, hand-sculpted miniature creation. This gargoyle trio are cast in resin and were originally made from polymer clay. At some point in the future I want to sell a unique range of resin minis and potentially fund the moulds via Kickstarter. Please follow my social media for updates. I will share work-in-progress and early news via Patreon and Tribes.
My primary material I like to use is Beesputty which is a polymer clay that is unfortunately hard to get hold of. There are various levels of 'firmness' you can get and I really enjoy the way the clay can be manipulated. I do also use other clay as well as epoxy putty. My putty of choice is currently Magic Sculpt ands and also brown stuff (which is firmer than green stuff) as well as a mix of these two as magic sculpt can be too soft for details. Magic sculpt is more clay-like than other epoxy putty and sets hard like milliput. Brown stuff is great for small details that require a harder edge. Another positive is that both of these materials don't leave much residue on your fingers. The magic sculpt will at first when you in two parts, but once it's mixed it pulls the excess back off your fingers. The brown stuff basically doesn't leave any residue in the way that green stuff does.
